In creating the remarkable characters in Journeys with Horses, Leslie McDonald draws on over 45 professional years in the horse industry as a trainer, instructor and competitor. Over the years, her deep love for the sport has spanned many disciplines ranging from dressage to eventing, hunters and jumpers to steeplechase riding and fox hunting. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from DePauw University. A U.S. Dressage Federation Gold Medalist, she lives with her husband on a horse farm in southern Ohio where she teaches dressage and writes books. McDonald is the author of four previously published books, including Down the Aisle, Musings of a Horse Farm Corgi, Tic-Tac, and Making Magic Breeding and Birthing a Healthy Foal.

great gift for a horse lover
The stories in this book really resonate; they are the stories of my friends and my horses. A wonderful book to pick up when you need a little hit of horse.
An excellent collection of stories about horses and the people they are involved with. Very well written by a true horseman who knows what she's talking about!
Some really nice short stories here. I'm just not a great fan of short stories- I always want more!!!
Journeys with Horses is wonderful. Many of the stories touched me personally. Leslie assembled a terrific cross-section of stories. As I read each one, I found myself eager to learn what type of journey lie ahead.
With mixed emotions from what seemed to be stilted editing I plowed through this unsatisfactory book, ever hoping. I found myself finished still waiting for a beginning.
